Turn your vehicle into a mobile power source with the Tesla Outlet Adapter accessory. The Tesla Outlet Adapter is an AC external power supply adapter that uses your vehicle's charge port to power small-to-medium appliances or tools (excluding devices with high-wattage heating elements or large, heavy-duty motors) or powers devices during an power outage. If available in your region for your vehicle configuration, purchase the accessory on shop.tesla.com. Depending on your vehicle configuration, the Tesla Outlet Adapter is either a stand-alone accessory or it requires the Gen 3 Mobile Connector.
CAUTION
When required, only the Gen 3 Mobile Connector supports the Tesla Outlet Adapter. Do not attempt to use the Tesla Outlet Adapter with other Tesla charging products (for example, the Gen 2 Mobile Connector).
Note
The Tesla Outlet Adapter cannot be used to power an electrical panel and is not a bi-directional inverter.
Tesla Outlet Adapter Basics
CAUTION
Do not operate or store the adapter in temperatures outside the range of -22°F to +122°F (-30°C to +50°C).
(Tesla Outlet Adapter + Gen 3 Mobile Connector only) Attach the Tesla Outlet Adapter to the end of the Mobile Connector.
Open your vehicle's charge port door. If you are using the standalone Tesla Outlet Adapter, plug it directly into the charge port.
Design may vary but function is the same.
Otherwise plug the handle of the Mobile Connector into the charge port.When power is available, the charge port status light turns green.
Note
Your vehicle automatically checks for and runs any necessary software updates for the adapter.
Plug the device you want to use into the Tesla Outlet Adapter.
Note
For the Tesla Outlet Adapter the maximum power draw is 2200W at 220V.
Note
Leaving a device plugged in depletes the high voltage Battery. Even if nothing is plugged in, the outlets draw small amounts of power from the Battery whenever they are enabled. When the charge level of the high voltage Battery is very low, power to the outlets shuts off and a message is displayed on the touchscreen. Leaving a device plugged in does not deplete the low voltage battery.
When you are finished, unplug and store the Tesla Outlet Adapter, as well as the Gen 3 Mobile Connector (if required).

If precipitation falls during charging, do not allow water to run along the length of charge cable, causing the electrical outlet or charging port to become wet.
