Depending on options purchased, date of manufacture, software version, vehicle configuration, and hardware, your vehicle may not be equipped with the following features, or a feature may not operate exactly as described.
If a child has been left in Model 3 unattended, Child Left Alone Detection triggers escalating alarms, and warning messages to the driver via Tesla mobile app notifications, while maintaining the cabin temperature until the detection is addressed.
Child Left Alone Detection activates when Model 3 detects a child, small person, or animal alone in the vehicle with the doors closed. Initial warnings occur within 15 seconds of doors being closed if the vehicle is locked, or after approximately two minutes of doors being closed if the vehicle is unlocked. Initial warnings include: a short chime, the lights flash for approximately five seconds, and a Tesla mobile app notification is sent notifying you to return to your vehicle. Ten seconds after initial detection, the climate control system is automatically enabled. Simultaneously, approximately two minutes after initial detection and while the child remains in the vehicle, Model 3 triggers escalating alarms and mobile app notifications every minute until the detection is addressed.
Open any door to disarm the alarms. When the door closes, Child Left Alone Detection is re-enabled.
You can disable Child Left Alone Detection alerts by touching Controls > Safety > Child Left Alone
Detection for the current drive cycle (every time the vehicle is in Park and you walk
away). Child Left Alone Detection automatically re-enables at the start of every drive
cycle. Child Left Alone Detection cannot be disabled with the mobile app.
