Alpha Hits the Road

Model S, engineered from the ground as an EV, is meticulously designed for superior aerodynamics, stability and handling, crash safety, performance and range. Before Model S enters production it will have been thoroughly tested using both computer simulations and test vehicles. Tesla will complete two vehicle testing phases, Alpha and Beta. The Alpha phase began in 2010.

While test driving the first Alpha, Tesla Vehicle Dynamicist Graham Sutherland commented: "The first Alpha is amazingly agile for a car of its size. It has great handling balance and poised ride with communicative steering. Just goes to show what combining a low center of gravity with a very stiff body structure can achieve."

The Alphas will be tested extensively in the coming months in all climates. As each Alpha is built, the driving dynamics will evolve and improve.

My god....That is unbelievable the flow and lines....extraordinary finish. Can't wait for mine. Simply love it.

I love this car ! And finally it is wonderfull. One queestion: the car is front drive or rear drive?

Hi guys,

I saw the latest pictures of the Alpha Model S and I have to say, that I don't like the change from a gentle car to an aggressve looking car.

The design change does not fit to the transported picture of idealism, silence and harmony.
In my oppinion Tesla has no need to align to the "aggressive = power" picture of other dirty, stone age cars, which get its energy burning oil making noise, showing aggressive power, where there is none ...

My European friends and me have the same oppinion, that Model S has to transport the gentle understatement of Jaguar or Aston Martin. Tesla is world leader in e-cars and doesn't have to show muscles ;)

Beta Version for me and all my friends was the nicest car I ever seen.

Please think about, that Model S is a car where women will decide if it will be bought or not ;)

Hoping that the design will change to a fitting one to silence, peace and the understatement of a leader.
